Velho Clockwork Bridge
All Ramps, Slides, Transfer Points, and Funiculars are geared to operates in clockwork unison. conveyor belts. Driving on treadmilled platforms turns the gears that are connected through a system of chains, cables, and pulleys. The vehicle on the treadmill platform must maintain a slow steady speed to stay in place on the platform but provide enough power for the platform to move to the next location. The vehicle must speed up to leave the platform but stop in time to not go off the end of the next platform. All platforms are only large enough for a single truck that is within weight tolerances.
In an attempt to maximize the momentum of the Clockwork, Red Repair has devised a plan to make the bridge crossing faster by using a technique they call Ramping Speed. Vehicle increases speed until almost running off the front of a platform, stopping to let the conveyor belt carry the vehicle back until it almost falls off the rear of the platform, then racing the vehicle to the front of the platform again. Repeating the process increases the speed of the bridge’s moving components.
The step-by-step procedure for crossing on the Velho Clockwork Bridge from Sweet Misery across to Down Side.
Step 1: Starting on the Sweet Misery On Ramp, Sliding Platform 1 takes the vehicle to either Funicular 1A or 1B as available.
Step 2: Funicular 1 descends to Sliding Bridge 2.
Step 3: Sliding Bridge 2 takes the vehicle to either Funicular 2A or 2B as available.
Step 4: Funicular 2 descends to the Down Side Off Ramp.
Reverse the process for going from Down Side up to Sweet Misery.
]Whether caused intentionally or otherwise, data stream integrity is severely compromised during hostile exchanges. Fortunately, the ch2 retrieval team was able to decrypt a “battle schematic” and key code. The battle schematic sets the overlapping pattern for the repair vehicles to cross as quickly as possible.
Along with the very small volume of recoverable visual and aural material, the battle schematic was input into Otto’s Educated Guess for simulation of Red Repair’s dangerous river crossing as a real-time event.
