The Maze is the complex of buildings that are CanardCom’s headquarters. Corridors in The Maze are litteraly a three dimensional featuring sharp angles and stairs leading to different levels. If you can’t find Human Resources, you can’t find a job and CanardCom. This structure houses all units including business affairs, manufacturing, merchandising, shipping, game research and development, the Gameframe, and The Void.
The Void houses Next Horizon Research and Development. Hidden within the “dead spaces” of The Maze, The Void is where “nerds”, the “NHRD” team, conduct their experiments on secret CanardCom projects. The Void is isolated from any external connections. No Wi-Fi, cellular, or hardwire Internet connection plus separate internal power supply. Separate water and sewage and twice-screened food service. Entrances to secure doorways may open to The Maze or The Void depending on security clearance. Contrary to The Maze, corridors in The Void are characterized by curved walls and ramps to different levels. Some areas of The Void are actually visible from parts The Maze.
The only communication link between the two facilities is controlled by the CEO and CSO. The Void includes the CLOIS, an closed information system AI. It is the shared mainframe for all research in The Void. It handles all internal communications and storage of research data. CLOIS can only be accessed in the Void and updates can only be installed by either the CSO or CEO, in The Void.
